Muncaster has something for everyone! Beautiful historic, and reputedly haunted Castle home to the Pennington family for 800 years. 70 acres of gardens famous for its collection of rhododendrons and azaleas set against the stunning backdrop of the Lakeland fells. The World Owl Centre is home to over 45 species of Owl in landscaped aviaries from all over the world. Wonder at the tiny Pygmy Owls and the majesty of the giant Eagle Owls. The indoor children’s MeadowVole Maze offers a chance to learn about the life of Max MeadowVole, answer the questions and win a prize. Finish the day watching the wild herons come into feed during our Heron Happy Hour.
